NEEDED: MIDNIGHT MEDIATORS - by Jim Tharp

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:9-13, NKJV)

Our Bible warns us that in the last days there will be perilous times: “...There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers if themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power.…” (II Timothy 3:1-5, NIV). Concerning the times, God’s Holy Word reminds Christian believers that He seeks to intervene in the affairs of the wickedness of the world through the prayers of Spirit-filled Christian believers who will fast and pray in the power of the Holy Spirit. Readers, please note the opening passage (Luke 11:9-13). The hour is too late and the night too dark for any other strategy in preparing the human race for the soon coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. No one knows the day or the hour, but we do know according to our Bible that the Second Coming of Jesus Christ will be the end of the Church Age and the world of people left on earth will face the terrible judgments awaiting them.

Please believe me when I declare that the prayers of God’s Spirit-filled believers throughout the last days is His strategy for getting His backslidden Christians and lost human souls called to repentance and salvation—all in preparation for the Second Coming of Christ Jesus!

Before closing this call to Christians to pray, I want to give a few quotes from Spirit-filled successful men of God concerning what prayer can do: E. M. Bounds declared “The prayers of God’s saints are the capital stock of heaven by which God carries on His great work upon earth.” Spurgeon defined Spirit-anointed prayer as “that powerful nerve that moved the muscles of omnipotence.” John Wesley believed that “God will do nothing but in answer to prayer.”

As an old man of 91 years of age, I must close by saying that these last years of the Christian Age happen to be the most dangerous periods of world history, and God is calling for Spirit-filled prayer warriors to prepare more seriously for sacrificial ministries of prayer!
